About Me

I was born with a book in my hand (or at least within reach). Growing up in the suburbs of Perth, reading was my happy place (and still is).

Most of my twenties was spent living and working overseas. From schticking asparagus in Holland and waiting tables on Santorini to a long and enjoyable stint at the BBC in London.

I now live with my family near the beach in Sydney, often sneaking off to a library or café to write. With a suspense manuscript safely locked in a drawer, I’m enjoying a lighter touch (by not killing anyone) writing romantic fiction.

Received my first writing award at age eight - 2nd place in an Art & Essay competition for a poem I wrote. I still have the prize - a book!

I’m a podcast junkie. I love being inspired by listening to author interviews and all things writing craft.

The most words I’ve ever handwritten in a day was on a train. A group of us filled a carriage at Sydney’s Central Station and ‘sprinted’ between stations all the way to the Blue Mountains and back. It was intense, thrilling and completely exhausting. Loved every minute of it!

By day I’m a number cruncher. I also apply my love of writing to create gripping accounting scenarios for students.

Aside from writing, my other passion is karate. I’ve trained for many years and have a black belt.

There were so many memorable moments during my time at the BBC. One in particular stands out - chatting to fellow Aussie, Clive James while waiting for the lift.
