Reluctant because I’m not convinced I have anything interesting to say.
My best writing is always in my head. Sentences like melodies, perfect phrasing and words that flow.
As soon as my fingers curl around a pen, or are poised over a keyboard, the words evaporate.
So here I am, my first blog and the grabbing first paragraph I’d written in my head is somewhere out there in the ether.

This is me! I’m a part-time writer, with lots of balls in the air. Every spare moment possible I ‘sneak off’ – yes that’s what it feels like, wrong I know – to my favourite café of the moment and get lost in my writing.
That is my happy place.
There’s two PPs (personal projects) I have going on:
• A crime novel with a paranormal twist
• A romance novel.
Which came first?
The crime manuscript, The Six, was something I dreamed up when I lived in London in the 90’s. An idea fermented in my head for years and grew until I wrote it down. Over the years I’ve dipped in and out of it, completed writing courses and finally got serious enough to finish a draft several years ago.
More drafts later and it’s close but not quite there yet. I had great feedback from a manuscript assessor last year and an encouraging chat with a publisher, but until my littlest one goes to school it’s going to stay in a drawer.
